The Peninsula, New York
Bespoke at Emma Willis begins with a personal appointment where we will discuss the fit, style and purpose of your shirts before taking your measurements. You will choose from our collection of luxury Swiss and Italian cottons and linens, with every detail personalised—from the collar, cuffs and front style to mother-of-pearl buttons and hand-embroidered initials. There is a minimum order of four shirts, but we make one sample first to perfect the fit. This usually takes three to four weeks, followed by approximately four weeks for the remaining shirts.
Each bespoke shirt is individually cut and made in our Gloucester workrooms using traditional British shirtmaking techniques, including single-needle stitching at 18 stitches per inch and meticulous matching of checks and stripes at the seams. Once your sample is ready, we will arrange a fitting in person or virtually for overseas clients before completing your order. Your measurements, fit and design preferences will be retained, making it easy to repeat previous orders or choose new fabrics online or in the shop.
